Unbelievable
I am a human being with A.L.S. disease for already 11
years. since 6 years ago I'm connected to both a respiratory
machine and a wheelchair, unable to move any part of my body
except my eyes.
Last year I discovered your EyeTech Digital System, and the
quality of my life has changed completely. After two months
of intense practice and studying of the
different properties, I achieved a high level in controlling
the system. My communication with the people around me and
with the world has become easier, clearer and faster.
The
main improvement was gaining back my autonomy. My wife has
more free time because I’m now less depended on her. Now I
can stay by myself for a few good hours and so she can
enjoy shopping, meeting with friends, go out to lectures,
cinema, theater, etc. Even my personal helper has more time,
so he can rest and even given more help in house-keeping
works.
What can I do with my
eyes on the computer?
I
write by using a virtual keyboard for a few purposes:
· To
communicate with people who can't read my lips. I have a big
screen (19 inch) in order to make it more comfortable for my
eyes and for the people around me.
· When
a group comes to visit me, I use a projector connected to
the computer, so everyone can see what I write.
· I receive
E-mails, read them and answer on the spot. Corresponding
with my family (6 children & 26 grandchildren) is my and
their pleasure. By the way I'm 67 years old.
· I write
articles and in newspapers, I am an active member in forums
of A.L.S. in Israel, my country. In the last year I
wrote two books also with my eyes - "Therefore Choose
Life" and a poems book - “Lu".
· The
internet is my favorite. Like everybody I am exploring in
the internet and enjoying the wide world. You know.....
· Organizing
pictures in albums is another hobby. I became an expert in
Photoshop and I'm trying to draw and paint by myself.
I
download unique programs like Webshot and an extraordinary
program of the Bible and Jewish sources.
You
understand that the last year is one of the happiest years
in my life.
I
